2025 National Show
Blakelsey Show 2nd August
There was fine entry forward for the 2025 National Show held at Blakesley Show, Northamptonshire with Tim Williams, the current President and judge on the day, remarking on the strong classes and good skins on show.
The National Show Champion was Lawford Preston, a two year old ram from JM Jeyes and family who were presented with Brockhall Perpetual Challenge cup, presented at all National Shows, together with a cheque for £100 from the Society. The male reserve champion was a ram lamb from Stuart Brodie’s Brockhall flock, shown by Sam Brodie.
The female championship and Best Opposite Sex to the Champion were awarded to The Hadfield family with their pair of shearling ewes; they also received £50 prize money donated by N&T Hodgkinson, Souldrop flock. The reserve female champion, the winner of the ewe class, was another exhibit from the Jeyes family who also went on to take the prize for the Group of Three.
It was good to see so many young family members showing sheep in the ring which, with grandchildren also watching on, is so reassuring for the future of the breed.
